Smart Marine Management (SMM) was founded in 2017 on the belief there was a need to provide a tailored ISM/ISPS/MLC management system that suits each individual superyacht.  There are many systems out there, that although compliant, are built as a one size fits all policy, which in reality results in a system that does not match or suit the individual needs of each yacht.

Angus Tapp CEO has spent his whole life on or around yachting. 

Angus moved into the commercial shipping industry 12 years ago, the past 8 years of which he worked specialising in ISM / ISPS and MLC compliance.  This involved auditing of ships as well as the generation of simple easy to implement systems for Safety, Security and MLC compliance.  As DPA & CSO for 31 commercial ships he continues to ensure that he is at the forefront of all commercial regulatory compliance enabling him to provide an up to the minute service to the superyacht industry.

Prior to moving into commercial shipping Angus co-ordinated and managed a safety equipment servicing department which specialised in the servicing of safety equipment for both commercial and leisure yachts.  He also did yacht deliveries and skippered for a corporate yacht charter company.  On top of this he managed his own elite team racing company, has been principle of several sailing schools where he developed training and instruction manuals for courses and their respective instructors.  Having reached the pinnacle in these areas and looking for a new challenge, Angus moved into commercial shipping.

Angus has a passion for yachting and built on a love of this, he created a company with an obsessive eye for detail that puts clients first every time.
